LAHORE: Maryam Nawaz on Monday accused the government of not allowing her and the physician of her father former prime minister Nawaz Sharif to see him for the last five days.

“I am still waiting for the permission to meet Nawaz Sharif. He is unwell and it has been five days that I have no access to him. Not even his personal physician has been allowed to see him.

A humble reminder: Force of retribution never sleeps,” Maryam tweeted.

She said she was very much worried as there was no other way to learn about the health condition of her father. She urged the people to pray for his health.

Mr Sharif is serving a seven-year imprisonment in the Kot Lakhpat jail in the Al-Azizia Mills corruption case.

As his condition is not well, the Punjab government has offered him treatment at the hospital of his choice which he declined. Federal Information Minister Fawad Chaudhry says Mr Sharif wants to go to London for his treatment.

Meanwhile, PML-N MPA Hina Pervaiz Butt filed a resolution in the Punjab Assembly demanding investigation into the fake letter of Maryam Nawaz to the US embbasy seeking its help for his health condition. She said a case should be registered against the culprit(s) under the cyber laws.
