ISLAMABAD, July 8: President of the Supreme Court Bar Association (SCBA), Qazi Muhammad Jamil, terming Hasba Bill ‘censorial’ law said there was no need to enact such laws. “I believe that a law, which interferes the private lives of individuals in a civilized society is always unnecessary”, he told the agency on Friday. Commenting on the bill drafted by the NWFP government of Muttahida Majlis-e-Amal (MMA), the President of SCBA said this was a political gimmick. No government can become popular by implementing a law like Hasba.

Qazi said, there are existing laws dealing with various aspects of human conduct. Multiplication of laws will result in a greater legal controversy, he said.—APP
