HYDERABAD, July 6: Sindh Minister for Education Dr Hameeda Khuhro has set up a ‘writers’ welfare fund’ for deserving writers, poets and research scholars. A sum of Rs2 million received by the board as special grant from the Sindh chief minister has been deposited in the fund. According to the board authorities, efforts are being made to collect at least Rs10 million for the writers’ welfare fund.

Philanthropists and NGOs have been requested to contact the Sindhi Adabi Board in this regard.

A committee comprising writers, journalists and members of the Sindhi Adabi Board will be formed which will scrutinize cases of deserving candidates.

LUMHS: The Liaquat University of Medical and Health Sciences has extended the last date for submission of examination forms of final professional MBBS (new course) annual examination 2005 at the LUMHS, Chandka Medical College and People’s Medical College upto July 14 without late fee and with late fee of Rs200 upto July 21.
