SUKKUR, July 5: Activists of the Jeay Sindh Mahaz took out a procession outside the press club here on Tuesday in protest against issuing of national identity cards to three million illegal immigrants in Sindh and construction of Kalabagh dam and Thal canal. The senior vice-chairman of the party, Mr Khan Mohammad Bhayo, led the protesters.

The protesters marched on main thoroughfares of the city and staged a sit-in outside the press club for an hour.

They were chanting slogans against the government and the Muttahida Qaumi Movement.

Speaking on the occasion, Mr Bhayo said the Sindhis had been deprived of their rights since the last 57 years.

He said the establishment had used various departments against the Sindhis instead of their development.

He alleged that Sindhi feudal and tribal lords and those sitting in the Sindh Assembly were “agents” of Punjab.

Mr Bhayo said Punjab was behind issuing of NICs to illegal immigrants in Sindh to increase the problems of Sindh.

He said the construction of Kalabagh dam and Thal canal was another conspiracy to barren the lands of Sindh.

He alleged the MQM was being strengthening through bifurcation of various cities of Sindh. Maula Bux Khaskheli also spoke on the occasion.
