SIALKOT: A Pakistani mentally challenged woman died at a hospital in the Indian city of Amritsar on Friday, reports said.

According to broadcasts by Indian TV channels, Gulshan Bibi was shot at and injured by Indian Border Security (BSF) on Wednesday when she mistakenly crossed over the zigzagged Working Boundary near Shakargarh-Narowal sector and entered the Indian territory.

Indian BSF shot at the 24-year-old by declaring her a terrorist. Later, the Indian authorities got the wounded woman admitted to a hospital in Amritsar where she passed away after fighting for her life for two days.

Her family said they came to know about the news through some channels.

The grieving family has urged the government of Pakistan to take measures to bring the body to Pakistan for burial.
