Fuss over ‘insult’

Published February 22, 2019

MIRPURKHAS: Scores of Marri tribesmen tried to storm the Town police station here on Thursday after a constable stopped a vehicle carrying their notables and argued with them over rash driving.

The tribesmen took constable Taufiq Rajput’s act as an insult to their elders and surrounded the police station demanding action against him.

However, when the charged crowd tried to force its entry into the station, Mirpurkhas SSP intervened by ordering an inquiry against the policeman and assured the tribesmen of action against him if he was found guilty.

The tribesmen then withdrew from the area.
