LODHRAN: The City police arrested a 15-year-old boy for attacking his mother with a knife and injuring her for contracting a second marriage.

According to a statement of the victim, Zareena Bibi, she had contracted a marriage with Mohammad Waqas after getting divorce from her first husband, Mohammad Aslam, with whom she had three daughters and one son, Akmal.

This matter offended Akmal and on Saturday, he attacked Zareena with a knife when she was working in a field.

She raised hue and cry as she was injured. Her husband, Waqas, reached there with his brother and Akmal fled.

Zareena was shifted to the District Headquarters (DHQ) hospital where the doctors referred to the Bahawal Victoria Hospital.

The City Police Station lodged an FIR against Akmal and his father, Aslam, and also arrested the former.
