PSD to discuss Punjab Games

LAHORE, July 4: An important meeting of the Punjab Sports Department will be held on Wednesday to take a decision about holding the second Pakistan-India Punjab Games scheduled to be held, most probably in October this year. The Indian Punjab had staged the first edition of the games last year. The meeting will also decide to increase the annual grant of eight sports associations on the basis of their performance last year.

The Punjab government has announced a grant of Rs 13.5 million for the provincial sports associations in the fiscal budget. And the department had decided to give the grant to the associations on the basis of their performances.

Those sports associations which invited for the meeting are, football, hockey, athletics, kabaddi, basketball, handball, volleyball and cycling.
