LODHRAN: A 25-year-old youth was killed as a swing broke down in a festival at the Dullun Shaheed Darbar near Kahror Pacca on Sunday.

According to the police, children as well as adults were having a ride in the swing in the evening when two of its cars separated from it due to speed and fell down.

Three youths, Kashif, Zafar and Shahid, were injured in the accident. Of them, Kashif died while Zafar and Shahid were shifted to the Kahror Pacca Tehsil Headquarters Hospital.

The police reached on the spot and arrested a worker who was running the swing.

District Police Officer Malik Jameel Zafar also visited the incident site and launched an investigation into the incident.

In another incident, a young man was killed while four others, including two siblings, suffered injuries as their rivals opened fire on them at Mehrabpur near Lodhran.

According to a police officer, two parties had a dispute over the street land and its ownership. On Saturday, one party, led by Muhammad Madni, Mustafa and Abdul Rehman, appeared there and opened fire on the other family. As a result, a woman and four men suffered injuries. They were identified as Shehzad, 19, son of Muhammad Sagheer, Samina, wife of Bashir, Muhammad Ilyas, 20, son of Bashir, his brother Shehzad, and Muhammad Siraj, 45, son of Allah Diwaya.

Of them 19-year-old Shehzad succumbed to his injuries as he was being shifted to hospital.

Saddar police registered a first information report (FIR) on the statement of Muhammad Sagheer and other injured.
