SHIKARPUR, July 4: There was no danger of flood in Shikarpur district as all the protective embankments were safe and could sustain pressure of water. However, efforts are being made to strengthen river embankments. This was stated by the District Coordination Officer Shikarpur, Khwaja Shafiq Ahmed, after visiting Ruk, Jhali Kalwari, Chak, Mehmooda Bagh and Chaman Sukkur river protective embankments in the district on Monday.

He was accompanied by EDO revenue, Ghulam Mustafa Phul, SDO agriculture and executive engineer embankments division Sukkur.

The DCO also informed that as precautionary measures, relief camps had been established at every taluka headquarter and other main points in the district.
