QUETTA, July 4: The All Pakistan Clerks Association has accused the Balochistan minister for excise and taxation of recruiting about 200 people in violation of rules and denying the staff 50 per cent quota in appointments. Speaking at a news conference at the press club on Monday, APCA President Mohammad Younas Kakar demanded an inquiry into alleged favouritism and bribery in the appointments and said deserving candidates had been ignored. He claimed that the excise and taxation department did not advertise the posts or hold tests and interviews of the candidates in accordance with the prescribed procedure. Mr Kakar asserted that the quota had been fixed according to the rules.

He announced that the APCA would hoist black flags at all offices of the department in the provincial capital and hold protest meetings to expose the irregularities committed in the recruitment.—Correspondent
