ISLAMABAD: The daily-wage teaching and non-teaching staff serving in Federal Directorate of Education (FDE) schools and colleges got a sigh of relief after a federal government representative assured them that their cases would be considered.

During a meeting held at the FDE, Prime Minister’s Adviser on CDA Affairs Ali Awan, who is also member of the standing committee on education, FDE Director General Ali Ahmed Kharal and representatives of the daily-wage employees discussed the issue of regularisation.

The employees were assured that the government would consider their cases in accordance with rules and regulations.

The employees were also assured that the directions of Islamabad High Court (IHC) would be implemented.

“The final decision is yet to be taken but during the meeting we agreed that we will resolve the chronic issue of daily-wage employees. We will have to come up with a solution,” said Mr Awan.

He said for the first time the government released salaries of daily-wage employees on time.

“We will resolve their issue of regularisation and those who fullfil criteria will be considered for it,” he said.
