DADU / NAUSHAHRO FEROZE: PPP co-chairman and former president Asif Ali Zardari has said that the huge economic crisis the country is facing today is the result of bad financial policies and ill-planning of the government.

Speaking to PPP activists at Shah Baig village, some 27 kilometres from Moro town, on Monday during a visit to the area, the PPP leader said that the PPP had always fought for the rights of the poor and the working class and provided them with jobs and other facilities and in turn the masses had reposed their confidence in the PPP in general elections and elected party leaders several times to fight for protection of their rights in the assemblies.

Mr Zardari said that because of the pro-poor and pro-worker policies of the party, the PPP had to face tough impediments and hurdles in the fight for the cause of workers’ rights.

He, however, pledged that the PPP would not let workers be alone in this noble struggle and continue its fight for their rights to ensure an equitable and just economic system in the country.

Because of these policies of the party, Mr Zardari said, the people of the country still loved it and they had always voted it to power.

Later, the PPP co-chairman visited the residence of local PPP leader Shah Baig Sabki and condoled with the latter the death of his father. He was accompanied during the visit by local PPP leaders Zia Hussain Lanjar and Mumtaz Chandio.
