QUETTA: Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani has said that 250 million saplings would be planted in the province during his government’s tenure of five years.

Talking to reporters after launching the spring tree plantation campaign by planting a sapling inside the Chief Minister Secretariat here on Saturday, he said during the current spring season 1.2m trees would be planted which definitely would create positive impact on environment.

In the first phase, 80,000 trees and saplings were planted across Balochistan on Saturday.

“The government has planned to plant more trees in the areas which have good rainy season, but we have also decided to plant species which can be grown in dry areas with less water availability,” Mr Alyani said.
