PESHAWAR: Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has ordered appointment of information officers in the seven merged districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

He also ordered formation of an ‘integrated’ media strategy for the province during a meeting held here on Sunday, according to a statement.

Federal minister Murad Saeed, adviser to the prime minister, Iftikhar Durrani, information minister Shaukat Ali Yousafzai and senior officials attended the meeting.

Mr Mahmood asked the quarters concerned to establish information offices in the erstwhile Fata and Pata and appoint information officers. He said the provincial government in close coordination with the centre had chalked out a strategy for carrying out reconstruction and development in the merged districts.

He said media, including provincial directorate of information, could play vital role in integration of the merged areas with other parts of the country.
