JAMMU, Jan 11: India on Friday claimed killing 10 Pakistani soldiers in firing across the Line of Control (LoC).

An Indian army spokesman said the firing took place near Poonch, 240 kilometres northwest of occupied Jammu.

He alleged the firing began when Pakistan began shelling Indian posts.

“We retaliated with heavy machinegun fire and mortar shelling,” the spokesman said.

“We could see dozens of Pakistani bunkers go up in flames as there were several direct hits on them.”
