GUJRANWALA, July 2: A human smuggler was arrested by a raiding team of the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) in Thatha Azam village on Saturday. Reports said that trader Shabbir Husain of Badami Bagh, Lahore, complained that accused Yaqoob had received Rs400,000 from him to send his son to a foreign country. He said the accused had also collected his son’s identity card and the passport besides other documents, but failed to make his commitment. He said the accused was refusing to return the money.
On a tip-off that the accused was present in his village, the FIA team raided there and arrested him.
A case has been registered against the accused.
SHOT DEAD: A woman, the mother of three children, was shot dead by her former husband over the children’s issue in Kashmir Colony here on Saturday.
Yasmeen was present in her house when accused Muhammad Zaman came there and asked her to allow him to meet his children. On her refusal, he fell into a rage and opened fire on her. She died on the spot.
Police have registered a case against the accused and are investigating.
