TAXILA: The Heinous Crime Investigation Unit (HCIU) of Taxila police have arrested two suspects in the murder of a woman and her son.

The police said the suspects had killed the woman and her son to grab their property.

Subdivisional Police Officer (SDPO) Javaid Hassan said the bullet-riddled bodies of 43-year-old Haseeb Ayub and his mother Saleema Bibi, 71, were found near their house in Bodoo village located in the limits of Wah Cantonment police on Nov 25.

The police registered a double murder case on the complaint of the deceased woman’s son Sohail Ayub and handed over the case to the HCIU.

A team led by Sub-Inspector Amir Abdullah and Nisar Ahmed probed the case and through the statements of witnesses and other evidence traced the alleged killers.

The SDPO said the woman’s nephew Noman Ellahi and her son’s cousin Yasir Khalid were involved in the double murder.

He said there was a land dispute between the families of the deceased and the suspected killers.
