KARACHI, June 28: The Army Selection and Recruitment Centre, Karachi, announced on Tuesday that the registration for commission in Army Medical Corp and as psychologist will begin from July 4.

According to the schedule, the written intelligence tests will be conducted from July 4 to 9 at the centre from 9am to 12noon.

The GHQ will conduct interviews of successful candidates at Gilgit, Lahore, Hyderabad, Multan, Karachi, Quetta, Peshawar and Rawalpindi, an ISPR release said.

The finally selected candidates (male) will have to undergo 22-week basic military training at the Pakistan Military Academy and the female candidates at the Armed Forces Postgraduate Medical Institute, Rawalpindi. At the completion of training, they will be given the ad hoc rank of Captain/Major in the army.

The male candidates will be selected for Commission in Army Medical Corps as Short Service Medical Officers and in the departments of anaesthesia, cardiology, psychiatry, while female candidates will be selected for gynaecology and the candidates from either sex will be eligible for post of psychiatrist.

As regards Direct Short Service Commission in Army Education Corps, only the male candidates will be eligible to apply.

The recruitment centre further announced that the online registration, written and intelligence test for Short Service Regular Commission in Armed Forces Nursing Service will also be held on the same dates and time.—PPI
