LAHORE: The governor has summoned the Punjab Assembly session on Monday (January 7) afternoon and the assembly secretariat has issued a notification to the effect.
Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi will chair the sixth session of the 17th House in which at least six draft bills will be tabled.
Meanwhile, the speaker chaired a meeting on Wednesday to review progress on under-construction new building of the assembly. The buildings department and National College of Arts briefed the meeting about the construction work.
The speaker emphasised that the new assembly building should have foolproof security arrangements and a mosque and hostel there should also be completed at the earliest with proper sitting arrangements for MPAs’ drivers.
He also sought installation of the most modern sound system at the new building after comparative study of the systems installed at National Assembly, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Sindh assemblies.
