ABBOTTABAD: The Abbottabad police have failed to trace the killer of three-year-old Faryal, who was murdered after assault here a week ago.

Talking to media persons on Wednesday, district police officer Abbas Majeed Marwat said so far blood samples of 274 suspected people had been sent to forensic lab in Lahore for DNA test.

He said services of some seasoned police officers, who had carried out such kind of investigations in other parts of the country, had also been hired to reach the culprit as early as possible. He said they were awaiting the DNA report of the suspects. He said no loophole would be left in the investigation process. He said DNA reports were likely to be received in about a week.

DPO Marwat said the provincial police chief was personally monitoring the entire investigation process.

Meanwhile, a unanimous resolution was passed at a joint session of the Havelian and Abbottabad councils, demanding early arrest of the culprit and exemplary punishment to him.

The session was presided over by Abbottabad naib nazim Sardar Shuja and Havelian naib nazim Amir Shehzad. Also, political parties and social organisations held rallies to condemn the incident and demand early arrest of the culprit.
