KARACHI, June 27: Four students of a private university died while one of their associates survived a road accident on Tipu Sultan Road. Police said that a dumper loaded with gravel fell on a car while taking a turn on the Tipu Sultan Road. SHO Bahadurabad Tariq Malick told Dawn that the dumper fell on the car making it flat. Mustafeen who was driving the car was rescued in a wounded condition and was shifted to the JPMC.

Traffic police arranged a crane which lifted the dumper from the car. Once the dumper was removed, rescue workers cut the vehicle and recovered the inmates. Two were already dead while the other two appeared to be breathing slowly. However, all the four victims were pronounced dead on arrival at the JPMC.

They were identified as Ahsan Zaidi, Mansoor, Arif and Shakil. Hospital sources said that all the victim’s were in their mid-20s’. Hospital sources said that all the five were students of Mohammad Ali Jinnah University located in Block-6 PECHS. Following the accident the section officer of Tipu Sultan was suspended by the DIG Traffic.

KILLED: A man died and three others were wounded in a firing incident in Pirabad Monday. Police said that Gul Zeb and Jehanzeb were working at tandoor in Muslimabad where two suspects came and opened fire at them. Police said that some young men were sitting at the hotel chased the suspects who opened fire at them.
