ISLAMABAD: Chief of the Army Staff (COAS) Gen Qamar Javed Bajwa has said the army is focusing on the security of Balochistan.

According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the army chief was talking to Balochistan Chief Minister Jam Kamal Khan Alyani during a meeting on Saturday. “Maintaining security situation of Balochistan is the focus of Pakistan Army,” Gen Bajwa said. He said progress of the country was linked to the peace and stability of the province.

Regarding Afghanistan, he said, fencing of the Pak-Afghan border and enhanced security coordination on the Pak-Iran border would further improve the security situation.
