KARACHI, June 27: Sindh Governor Dr Ishratul Ibad Khan has said that bilateral contacts in the fields of economy, education and culture do have a positive impact on peace in the region. He made the observation while talking to a delegation associated with China’s economic and educational sectors which called on him at the Governor’s House. The governor, describing Pakistan-China friendship as deep rooted, noted that the two countries were maintaining persistent contact at different levels in health, education, culture, trade and other fields.

He expressed the hope that these bonds would strengthen further in future as this was in the interest of both the countries.

The governor informed the delegation that work on the establishment of the country’s first lever institute had been started and plants for the institute were being acquired from China.

He also pointed out that Pakistani businessmen and industrialists were working with their counterparts in various countries in joint ventures and in this regard they had preferential relationship with China.

Members of the delegation expressed their delight over having participated in trade exhibitions and keen interest in maintaining economic relationship with businessman community in Pakistan. They described their contacts with members of the community as useful.

The governor spelled out various investment opportunities available in Pakistan.

The delegation members included Drex Ji, He Shaig Yan, Zunu Rai Tai and Mamarti Zuinn.—APP
