QUETTA: Armed men shot at and injured a female health worker on Wednesday while she was administering anti-polio drops to children in Bhosa Mandi, a locality on the outskirts of provincial capital.

Police said Ghazala Magsi was busy administering vaccination drops to children as part of the ongoing polio eradication drive when two people riding a motorbike opened fire on her.

Police rushed to the site soon after receiving information about the incident and shifted the injured worker to the Civil Hospital. However, other polio team members remained unhurt.

Hospital sources said the condition of the injured worker was stable.
