KARACHI, June 27: Five ships carrying coal, steel bars and to load cement are due to arrive at the outer anchorage on Tuesday, according to KPT sources. Berthing activity at the wharves was fairly active where a dozen ships were berthed. They are: Kota Mardesa, Thor Captain, Elbe Oldendroff, Bunga Delima, to unload and load containers, Bao Longmen, to offload machinery, VOC Daisy, to offload steel coils, Ariella, to offload DAP fertilizer, Bow Fraternity to unload palm oil, Lami to load cement, Sondos, to load general cargo, Tream Effort to offload coal and Chem Star Hero, to offload chemicals.

Sailing was also active as 10 vessels, Spuros, Wan Hai-267, Maersk Alaska, Go Pride, Sagamore, Itha Bum, Kaptrian Trisul, Kota Mardesa, and VOC Daisy, departed, while Multan, Sargodha, Bow Fraternity and Thor Captain are due to sail out on Tuesday.

Cargo handling activity at the wharves was maintained on the higher side where a total tonnage of 0.127m tons comprising 16,533 tons of export cargo including 3,761 and 1,319 tons of rice and cement and 0.111m tons of import tonnage including 58,000 tons dry cargo was handled.

The following ships are due on Tuesday: Golden Sky, with 25,950 tons of coal, APL Daltan, Sima Kija, with containers, Cape-B, with 14,000 tons of steel bars and Captain Adham, to load 5,000 tons of cement after unloading general cargo.
