JACOBABAD, June 26: Following death of a kidnapped victim due to cardiac arrest, bandits freed three others on Sunday. Reports said that four people, Haji Anwar Brohi, brother of Ahmed Ali, president of the Jacobabad Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Haji Abdul Abbas Brohi, Haji Mohammad Yaqoob Bangalzai, a contractor, and a driver Ghulam Hussain Mirani, were on their way from Quetta to Jacobabad.

Near Lindsay Station, in the jurisdiction of Sibbi police station, seven armed men intercepted and kidnapped them at gunpoint and took them to the kutcha area.

Anwar Ali, one of the freed by the bandits, told newsmen that the kidnappers kept them under a tree in a desert area and were demanding Rs5 million as ransom and six Rado watches.

They forced them to write a letter to their relatives for ransom. He said that on Saturday, Mohammad Yaqoob suffered a heart attack and died. The bandits got confused over Yaqoob’s death, he claimed.

On Sunday morning, they took the kidnapped victims on three motorcycles along with the body and freed them near Noutak, district Naseerabad.

He further said that the body was shifted to native place in Quetta and the remaining two people reached Jacobabad.

When contacted, Dera Murad Jamali police confirmed the incident and said that Anwar and Abdul Abbas Brohi had reported to the police thatthey were released by the bandits.
