KARACHI: Bahria College Karsaz scored successive victories while SMB Fatima Jinnah College Green won a close contest on the opening day of the Quaid-e-Azam Inter-Collegiate girls Basketball tournament at the Arambagh court here on Monday.

Bahria College Karsaz beat SMB Fatima Jinnah Whites 24-16 in the first match. Anousha (12 points) and Naeema and Fatima (6 points each) were the main scorers for the winners.

For the losing side, Rabia and Shaarma scored six points each.

In their second match of the day, Bahria College Karsaz beat KMA Green 50-36. Fatima (18 points), Naeema (13 points) and Aven (11 points) were the salient performers for the winning side.

For the losing team, Zainab (16 points), Saira (9 points) and Shamsa (7 points) were the main contributors.

In the third match of the day, SMB Fatima Jinnah Green beat KMA White 23-18. Khizra (10 points), Sonia (6 points) and Anam (5 points) displayed superb game for the winning team.

For the losing side, Bushra and Asma scored eights points each.

Earlier, SSP Sports Officer Pakistan Railway Shehla Qureshi inaugurated the tournament and emphasized the importance of sports activities among the youth.
