LAHORE, June 25: Punjab Chief Minister Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi strengthened the ruling party’s position in Hafizabad district by settling differences between Mehdi Hasan Bhatty and former NA candidate Brig (retd) Usman Tarar on Saturday. The brigadier, according to an official handout, announced to join the PML along with his colleagues.

The chief minister has already ironed out differences among rival parties in several districts of Punjab, as a result of which the ruling PML’s prospects even in the ‘troubled’ areas have improved.
