SWABI: The body of a Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf tehsil councillor was found from the Swat Expressway here on Tuesday, police said.

The body was recovered by Yar Hussain police when they were informed by the locals about it.

The policemen, who saw the body, told this correspondent that the PTI leader was brutally killed and the body was thrown on the Swat Expressway.

The deceased, Wilayat Khan, was elected as tehsil councillor from Sard Cheena union council as independent candidate, but later joined the PTI.

When contacted, the police officials said wife of the deceased was at present in Punjab who had been informed about the killing of her husband.

However, they did not register an FIR till filing of this report, saying the report would be registered as and when she would approach the police.

It has been learnt that the family of the deceased did not have any enmity with anyone and the cause of his killing was not known.
