DERA GHAZI KHAN: Seven people drowned on Monday when a Wahowa-to-Multan bus plunged into the Chashma Right Bank Canal near Sobha Head, sources told Dawn. Local residents were the first to launch a rescue operation and they rescued eight people from the sunken bus. Seven passengers were retrieved dead by Rescue 1122.

The dead were identified as Hidayatullah , Ghulam Yaseen, Zulqarnain Khetran, Sadaqat Ali , Humayun Rasheed and Samiullah. The identity of one body could not be ascertained.
