QUETTA, June 24: The secretary-general of the ruling Pakistan Muslim League, Senator Mushahid Hussain Syed, is arriving here on Saturday to help resolve a row between Chief Minister Jam Yousuf and a group of angry PML ministers and MPAs.
Differences between the chief minister and the angry group have deepened and a meeting held in Islamabad last week also failed to improve the situation as the group boycotted the budget session of the Balochistan Assembly and announced that they would not attend the session until their demands were met.
The provincial general secretary of the PML, Sheikh Jaffar Khan Mandokhel, confirmed Senator Mushahid would be visiting Quetta.
“We will inform the PML’s central leadership that the provincial government has not taken any step to resolve the issues discussed at the Islamabad meeting,” Mr Mandokhel said.
“We have evolved our future line of action in view of the situation,” Mir Jan Mohammad Khan Jamali, the former chief minister, told reporters on Friday.
He said Prime Minister Shaukat Aziz and PML President Chaudhry Shujaat Hussain gave many assurances in the Islamabad meeting but non-of them was implemented so far.
