Three die

SHEIKHUPURA, June 24: Three passengers were killed while dozens of others received injuries when two buses overturned on Motorway’s beats 5 and 6 here on Friday.

The bus (FTW-2676) was going to Lahore from Islamabad. The driver dozed for a while and by the time he awoke he had lost control over the steering. As a result, the speeding bus overturned. Driver Abid Ali of Farooqabad and an unknown passenger died instantly while dozens of passengers sustained injuries. They were shifted to hospital.

Another bus, going to Lahore from Kot Addu, overturned and plunged into a roadside ditch for the same reason near beat 6 in the limits of Khanqah Dogran.

Ashraf of Layyah died on the spot while several passengers suffered injuries. They were admitted to a nearby hospital.
