LAHORE: The PPP says it will not seek concession from Imran Khan’s government in any case and continue resisting its “blackmailing tactics”.

“The Federal Investigation Agency has now issued a second notice to PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari (in connection with benami accounts) after he exposed Imran Khan in a public meeting in Gilgit-Biltistan. This is political blackmailing which will be resisted,” PPP Punjab President Qamar Zaman Kaira told a press conference here on Saturday.

Flanked by PPP Punjab General Secretary Chaudhry Manzoor, Mr Kaira said the PPP never sought concession from the PTI government in any investigation against its leadership. In the past millions of rupees were spent on investigation (against PPP leaders) but nothing was established.

“Z.A. Bhutto and Benazir Bhutto were also implicated in false cases but nothing was established against them,” he said and added that two brothers of an FIA chief contested elections against the PPP.

Mr Kaira asked why the FIA or the National Accountability Bureau did not move against Imran Khan’s sister Aleema Khan for possessing offshore holdings. He said Imran Khan demanded money trail from Nawaz Sharif and now he should better ask his sister to submit her money trail in offshore holdings to the departments concerned.

The PPP leader demanded constitution of a joint investigation team to probe the offshore properties of Aleema Khan.

Mr Kaira said the ‘just’ demands of the PTM should be accepted, however, those speaking against the country should not get any pardon.

The two PPP leaders also criticised the government for causing unprecedented price hike and inflation making the lives of the masses miserable.
