MIRPURKHAS, June 24: Two functions were held here on Thursday night to celebrate the 52nd birthday of PPP chairperson Benazir Bhutto. The PPP city and the women’s wing arranged the functions which were attended by party workers and office-bearers.

Speaking on the occasions, PPP divisional president MNA Pir Aftab Hussain Shah Jilani said that the government was afraid of popularity of the PPP and was creating new talukas in a bid to divide PPP votes.

He said that with the bifurcation of Mirpurkhas taluka, the common man would face hardships.

He said the Sindh government was held hostage by its coalition partners and vowed that after coming in power, the PPP would restore the old status of talukas and districts and on this issue an all parties conference will also be convened to prepare strategy.

Among others PPP district president Haji Noor Hassan Chandio, Najma Lashari, Malik Yaseen Ghouri, Khan Mohammad Baloch, Shamim Jhandeer and Fatima Baloch also spoke on the occasion.
