DERA GHAZI KHAN, June 22: The eight-year-old boy who was abducted along with a servant from Karor Lal Esan area on June 6, safely reached home here on Wednesday. Police claimed to have arrested the ringleader of the gang involved in the kidnapping.
Reports said, Faisal, son of Rana Tayyab, was kidnapped along with a servant, Manzoor, by some unidentified people from his home.
The police, after investigating the matter, arrested one Akhlaq Seher advocate, along with his two accomplices Mukhtiar and Akhtar for kidnapping two persons. The arrested accused informed the police that the kidnapped persons had been detained in Dera Ismail Khan’s tribal area.
The accused accomplices released the abducted people from tribal area of Dera Ismail Khan, police claimed.
Layyah DPO Maqbool Ahmed told Dawn that the accused, Akhlaq, who practised law at Karor Lal Eesan, had used his assistants in the kidnapping for Rs5 million ransom.
The DPO claimed that Faisal and Manzoor were released from Dara Zinda tribal area of Dera Ismail Khan because of the pressure built by the police and without paying any ransom.
He said the police had arrested the accused from DI Khan (NWFP), while their four other accomplices, Shah Nawaz, Khursheed, Aman and Sajni, were still at large.
