DHAKA, June 22: Two experts of Interpol and an agent of the US Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) arrived here on Wednesday to determine the expertise required for a thorough investigation into the grenade attack on an Awami League rally that had killed 23 people on August 21 last year.

Marc Beaucheman, an expert on public safety and terrorism affairs, Grey George Zeoski, a ballistic expert, and Trung Vu, a US analyst of civilian terrorism, arrived in Dhaka at about 11:55am. The Interpol experts and the FBI agent later went to the US embassy amid tight security and then to their hotel.

They will prepare a report on the basis of previous documents and the confessional statements of Arman Khan, one of the 23 most-wanted criminals, George Mia and an Awami League leader, Mukhlesur Rahman.

Arman and George are now in police custody while Mukhles is in jail.
