PESHAWAR: Theannual vintage car rally 2018 is scheduled to reach Peshawar on Nov 22, Dr Aamir Bilala, a member of the classic car club Pakistan, told Dawn. The vintage cars show for general public would be held at Peshawar club on Nov 23.

The rally started from the mausoleum of Quaid-i-Azam Mohammad Ali Jinnah through its journey has already moved through various cities including Sukkur, Bahawalpur, Lahore and it would reach Islamabad today (Wednesday). He said an ensemble of 30 colourful vintage cars would be joined by more and the number would reach 60 on arrival in Peshawar.

Sharing further details, Dr Aamir Bilal said that the car rally would move from Peshawar club to Khyber Pass on Nov 24. He said the aim of the rally was to project soft image of Pakistan. The participants, he said, also included ladies as well as foreigners from USA, Germany and Dubai, who have come specifically for this rally.

The rally leader/organizer, he said, was Tauqir Sultan Awan of Islamabad who has an amazing collection of over 60 vintage cars and over two dozen heavy motorbikes. He is aided by many friends from Karachi to Khyber who all share his love for both vintage cars and Pakistan.
