Ex-minister to head SNGPL

LAHORE, June 21: Former federal minister Mian Altaf Saleem will be the new chairman of Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL) following his election as one of the 13 directors at a meeting here on Tuesday. “He has been nominated for the key post by the government,” company managing director Rashid Lone told journalists at the conclusion of the election process.

Mr Lone said the formal induction of Altaf Saleem would take place in the first week of July when new board of directors would meet.

Mr Saleem will replace incumbent Lt-Gen Safdar Butt (retired).

The new directors are Mian Altaf Saleem, Mian Riaz Mansha, Qasim Rabbani, Mohammad Naeem Malik,Tariq Iqbal Khan, Iqbal Awan, Abdul Bari, Arif Saeed, Munawwar Ahmad, Amanullah Shah, Husain Dawood, Shahzada Dawood and Syed Mohammad Asghar.—APP
