QUETTA, June 21: Haji Sadiquddin Mandokhel, backed by the Pakistan Muslim League, the opposition, independents and Hazara councillors, defeated Dr Aftab Hussain Kakar, backed by the Pukhtunkhwa Milli Awami Party, in the by-election for the post of Zarghoon Town Nazim on Tuesday. Mr Mandokhel received 37 and Dr Kakar got 14 votes. Dr Kakar alleged that nazims had been influenced to get the pro-government candidate elected.
