Visit to China 'more successful than expected', prime minister tells cabinet

Prime Minister Imran Khan on Thursday informed the federal cabinet that his maiden official visit to China was "more successful than expected" and that the host country has "assured every kind of assistance to Pakistan".
The prime minister, while briefing the cabinet, said that for the first time in the history of Pak-China bilateral relationship, the latter assured the former its full support in the agriculture sector.
During the meeting, the premier also approved a summary empowering the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) to issue a tax directory. The FBR will publish a separate tax directory for members of the parliament.
Furthermore, the federal cabinet approved the appointment of Rizwan Memon as chairman of the Trading Corporation of Pakistan, and sanctioned the issuance of a license to Liberty Air Ltd.
On the recommendations of the ministry of interior, the cabinet also gave its approval to take several individuals into protective custody.
A variety of international agreements were also given the green light, chiefly among which were exchange-of-prisoners treaties with England and Ireland.

The PM is very positive about assurence of china which promised to invest in the agriculture sector in pakistan. He also directed the Board of Revenue to compile a tex directory. The liscences of private airline is more sensitive and required a explicite policy for the safety and insurance, which were ignored in the past. And in case any air crash the problems are created as we have established precedents of Bhoja Airline. the victimes/ affectees are still not compensated.one of landmark progress is the exchange of prisoners on country level was missing in the past and should be folloewd with international decorums.

Agriculture revolution in PK will lead industrial revolution. PK is one of leading producers of agri and diary products. We should focus on them as they are less likely to be as costly as -recreating an industrial base.
Following 3 need urgent attention NOW. Making of medical, sports and textile and IT. Focus should be on research and development.This will add value. IT is in need to upgrading to artificial intelligence as not enough is being done in this sector,

If we get expertise of Agriculture from China, we can have much surplus to export.Also sugarcane farming to be ceased in Pakistan as it uses excessive water and also the production cost of sugar is comparitively 1.5 time higher than international prices as we have outdated sugar mills.The government has to give rebate too on exportvof sugar.It will be cheaper to import sugar and earn better revenue than locally produced.

What breakthrough technology do Chinese possess in agriculture that is not available elsewhere for less? Countries like Brazil, South Africa can train about agronomics and for a lot less. FAO etc can also assist.
Besides agricultural exports will not help Pakistan overcome the mega trade imbalance she has with China.

Imran is smarter than his formers. He understands what China has done and wants to carefully wane pakistan out of the crisis. He is in a situation where he cannot out China...he is, I think, under a lot of stress and doing his best. Hope country stays with him through these tough times. Chinese are not short-term-memory-loss. They can remember the cancellation of their president's tour to Pakistan due to IK's dharna back in 2014.
They are also unhappy with the arrival of Saudis on the CPEC route. Financial participation of Pakistan on CPEC is another of Chinese concerns. They are pre-empting a slide down from Pakistani side on US pressure in this regard.
This tour certainly lacked warmth by Chinese side, a thing wich has never happened in decades.

As always, I find myself utterly disappointed in how the public manages to support a government that is trying to overcome the destruction left behind by the two previous parties. But you know what, we the people will never be happy, we will always find ways to critique the government, unless of course they are bunch of thugs. Its hard to make everyone happy, everyone wants issues resolved in a week.

Most of the times if government achieve something good they advertise such success multiple times but somehow nothing was informed except few MOUs which are nothing unless turn into agreement and those MOUs are similar as past MOUs.

Remember he there short of four months not at the end of his term so he has plenty of time, although not an unlimited time when we look at problems the previous governments left Pakistan with !!.

Does it hit him that its because china has been trying to provide food security to itself. If agriculture was to get industrialised which sector will absorb the extra labour.
