HYDERABAD: A joint police party of Qasimabad and Nasim Nagar police stations was held hostage by mainpuri sellers in the village of Shoro on Wednesday.

Windscreen of the deputy superintendent of police (DSP) Qasimabad’s mobile van was smashed by residents who offered stiff resistance to the police raid.

A team of Nasim Nagar and Qasimabad police led by the Qasimabad DSP raided some places where mainpuri and gutka were being manufactured. But the team faced stiff resistance as police tried to seize material used in the making of such items.
