Railway auditor remanded

LAHORE, Jan 10: Senior auditor of Pakistan Railways Khalid Mahmood Tariq was remanded in the NAB custody till Jan 22 by an accountability court on Thursday.

The accused was arrested by the NAB in a Rs105.2 million fraud. Prosecution prayed for a remand for further investigation. He alleged to have defrauded the Railways during the purchase of uniforms.

MUSHTAQ AWAN: An accountability court recorded the evidence of a prosecution witness in a reference against former senior minister Mushtaq Awan and adjourned the hearing for Jan 15.

Mushtaq Awan is facing allegations regarding malpractice committed in allocation of octroi contracts.

FAISAL SALEH HAYAT: In a reference against former federal minister Faisal Saleh Hayat, a court ordered the accused to appear before it on Jan 15.

The court ordered to paste posters at public places to ensure the presence of the accused on the next date of hearing.

The former minister was accused of wilful default in a bank loan case.

KHUSH AKHTAR SUBHANI: A court recorded the statement of an investigation officer in a reference against former provincial minister Khush Akhtar Subhani and deferred further hearing till Jan 16.

ABDUL SATTAR WARIO: A reference against ex-MPA Abdul Sattar Wario was put off by a court till Jan 14.

Prosecution had sought time to file an application for summoning relevant record.
