KARACHI, June 18: The director-general of the Civil Aviation Authority has ordered high-level inquiry to investigate the incident of the loss of separation between two flights of the PIA and Air Blue on June 14, and withdrew CAA’s air traffic controller concerned from radar duties.

Any person from air traffic control found guilty of negligence would be penalized and subjected to further training in accordance with the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) procedures.

The CAA Safety Investigation Board president was investigating the incident and would soon submit report to the director-general, a CAA press release said on Saturday.—PPI
