Armed men beat up 3 women

LAKKI MARWAT, June 18: Three women were allegedly disgraced at gunpoint in Sur Band, a remote village in the district of Lakki Marwat, sources said on Saturday. They quoted a statement recorded with the police by a woman, Meraj Bibi, as saying that she had gone with Sadozai Bibi and Khatam Bibi outside the village to collect firewood when they were stopped by six men armed with Kalashnikovs.

The accused, Adam Khan, Azad Khan, Akram Khan, Rehmatullah, Jamil Khan, and Atlas Khan, all residents of Wanda Langerkhel Sur Band, allegedly beat the three women and tore their clothes besides depriving them of their ornaments.

The police have registered a case and started investigation.
