KARACHI: Emerging players Furqan Patel and Hareem Anwer became the new men’s and women’s singles champions respectively in the fourth Sindh Sports Board (SSB) ranking table tennis tournament which concluded at the SSB Sports Complex Nazimabad on Saturday.

By winning the men’s and women’s singles titles both the players have ended the event on a high note with twin titles apiece.

It is pertinent to mention that Furqan and Hareem have earlier clinched the boys and girls U-18 titles respectively.

Furqan gets the better of Saim Adnan 11-7, 11-3, 3-11, 6-11, 11-8, 11-7 in the thrilling final to win the men’s singles title.

Contrary to the men’s final, Hareem coasted to an authoritative straight victory over Maria Tazeem the scores being 11-8, 11-3, 11-7, 11-6.

Final results:

Women’s singles: Hareem Anwer bt Maria Tazeem 11-8, 11-3, 11-7, 11-6.

Men’s singles:Furqan Patel bt Saim Adnan 11-7, 11-3, 3-11, 6-11, 11-8, 11-7.
