KHAR BAJAUR, Jan 10: The tribal administration sent to prison here on Wednesday for a term of three years ten suspected Al-Qaeda members and 52 officials of the Taliban who had illegally crossed over into Pakistan.

The 62 persons, comprising Arabs and Afghans, had entered the tribal agency on different occasions through various routes and were apprehended by the administration and personnel of Bajaur Scouts.

They have been sent to Central Prison Haripur and district prison Kohat.

An official of the administration informed Dawn that the Afghan prisoners belonged to Kandahar, Qunduz, Kabul and Nangarhar provinces.

The Arabs, belonging to Al-Qaeda, hailed from Syria, Egypt, Jordan, Iraq and Saudi Arabia, he added.

According to official sources after their transfer to Haripur and Kohat, they would be interrogated by Pakistani intelligence agencies as well as the FBI.
