Stunning comeback by Jehangir

LAHORE, June 15: Sindh’s Jehangir Khan staged a stunning recovery to outclass Punjab’s Sheikh Saqib in the two pre-qualification rounds on the opening day of the International Squash championship at the Punjab Squash Complex on Wednesday. Jehangir dropped the first two games but hit back with vengeance to win the next three sets 3-11, 8-11, 11-5, 11-7, 11-5 in a 32-minute encounter.

The third pre-qualifying round will be held on Thursday and top four players will enter the qualifying round to join 12 players to compete in the main round starting from June 19.

The day’s longest match saw NWFP’s Alamzeb Junior outfought PAF’s Waqas Mehboob 6-11, 11-8,11-8, 9-11, 11-10 in another encounter that went to the distance.
