ISLAMABAD: The number of registered companies in Pakistan crossed the 90,000-mark after incorporation of 1,070 new entities in September, taking the total to 90,722.

Around 73 per cent companies were registered as private limited, 25pc as single-member while the remaining 2pc as public unlisted, non-profit associations, foreign and limited liability partnership (LLP) companies.

The trading sector took the lead with the incorporation of 189 companies, construction 142, services 137, information technology 107, tourism 83, food and beverages 45, real estate development 34, corporate agricultural farming 29, textile 28, engineering 26, education 20, transport 18, marketing and advertisement 16, healthcare and pharmaceutical 14 each, cables and electric goods 13, auto allied, and paper products with 12 each, logging and mining and quarrying with 11 each and 109 in other sectors.
