PESHAWAR: A civilian and a paramilitary soldier were injured when an improvised explosive device went off near Hayatabad toll plaza on Tuesday night, police said.

SP cantonment circle Waseem Riaz Khan said the incident took place in the limits of Pishtakhara police station at around 7.40pm.

The official said two pedestrians identified as Naeem and Yousaf received minor injuries. The injured Yousaf is a solider of the Frontier Corps. He said the injured were rushed to the hospital and bomb disposal unit was checking the area.

Rescue officials said a vehicle of ride hailing company was also damaged in the blast.
